Saltscapes’ Top Dog photo contest is OPEN.

From September 01 to September 30, 2025, dog owners will submit favourite photos of their best friends for a chance to be featured online, in the magazine, and to win a special prize for their loyal companion. Winners will be featured in the Oct/Nov 2025 edition of Saltscapes.

How to Enter the 2025 Top Dog Photo Contest

Step 1: Upload a Photo

Choose your favourite photo of your dog—whether they’re striking a pose, snoozing on the couch, or making a muddy mess.

Pro Tip: Choose a clear, well-lit image that really shows off their charm!

Step 2: Fill Out the Entry Form
Tell us:

• Your dog’s name
• Your name & contact info
• What makes your dog special (optional, but encouraged!)

Step 3: Select a Category

All dogs are automatically considered for the Top Dog Grand Prize, but you can also choose a fun sub-category that fits your dog’s personality:

You can also choose one or more themed categories you’d like your dog to be considered for:

• Salty Dogs (Beachy pups)
• Harbour Hounds (Dock or boat life)
• Maritimes Manners (Polite pooches)
• Blizzard Barkers (Snow dogs)
• Ruffing It (Cottage, campfire, trail companions)
• The Ruferee/Field Fetchers (Active outdoor dogs)
• Kitchen Companions (In the heart of the home)
• Plaid Pooch (Stylish pups in East Coast fashion)
• People’s Pup (Audience favourite — public voting!)

Each category winner gets bragging rights and a small special dog-themed prize!

Finalists will be selected across multiple categories!
Public voting will help determine people’s choice finalist, so every share counts!
